Journal of Information Giants (JIG) is a flagship peer-reviewed academic publication under Information Giants Publishers, offering a vibrant and critical forum for original research across communication, journalism, media studies, science communication, new media, public affairs, education, and broader social sciences. Though not affiliated with any academic institution, JIG maintains rigorous scholarly standards, using highly qualified reviewers from around the world to ensure intellectual integrity and research excellence.

Aims and Scope
The Journal of Information Giants (JIG) promotes critical discourse and multidisciplinary scholarship that interrogates the evolving intersections of communication, media, and society. With a global perspective, the journal encourages submissions from a wide range of geopolitical and cultural backgrounds.
JIG’s scope is designed to accommodate established and emerging themes, including but not limited to:
- Theories and conceptual models of journalism and communication
- Science communication in digital and analogue formats
- Methodological innovations in media and communication studies
- Political, ethical, and legal dimensions of public communication
- Communication in education and pedagogy
- Media technology, social media platforms, and algorithmic governance
- Public administration, communication policy, and governance
- Cultural and historical perspectives on communication systems
- Diversity, inclusion, and marginal voices in media
- Communication in health, crisis, and science contexts
- Journalism education, practice, and epistemology
- New media phenomena, influencer cultures, and platform politics
- Audience studies and reception analysis
All articles undergo double-blind peer review, beginning with an internal editorial screening and continuing through anonymised review by at least two expert reviewers. Submissions should demonstrate theoretical originality, empirical rigour, or methodological advancement, with relevance to an international scholarly audience.

The Journal of Information Giants follows an open-access model under the Information Giants Publishers Programme. Authors may choose to publish their work open access, ensuring immediate, unrestricted access to their article upon publication, increasing global visibility and impact. Special Issues
JIG welcomes proposals for special issues that make a significant theoretical, methodological, or empirical contribution to the field. Proposals should include:
- A two-page rationale outlining relevance and novelty
- A list of proposed contributors or topics
- A suggested timeline (typical duration: 9–10 months from proposal to publication)
Guest editors will manage peer review within the ScholarOne system and work in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief to ensure quality and consistency. Final acceptance decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief. Accepted papers will be published collectively to maximise issue coherence and thematic impact.
Typical Special Issue Structure:
- 1 Editorial Introduction (3,000–5,000 words)
- 8 Full Articles (each up to 9,000 words, incl. references and tables)
Special issues should reflect global relevance and advance the scholarly understanding of a defined theme or issue in communication, journalism, or science communication.
